Our Story
My business needed admin help. I was flat out with the creative elements, as well as being a mum and all that life brings, that I was loosing red hot leads for lack of time and brain space.
I could see hints online that there was exploitation of offshore VA's, so I wanted to make sure I found a good agency.
I found a place that ticked the boxes I could think of and I signed up. My VA was amazing! After some time I started asking questions, what I had been sold about service and support was not being met, maybe what they said about pay and working conditions wasn't true either.
I was shocked at what I found out.
My VA was receiving just 45% of what I was paying, and she had to pay 23% of that in Government contributions out of her pocket, pay for her own equipment and internet, then pay tax, PLUS paying a finders fee to the agency staff member who recommended her. They even took this cut out of bonuses and gifts I gave her.
I was angry.
There was zero ongoing support for me, zero training for my VA, and unknowingly I had been leaving her with a per hour rate of less than 50% of a liveable wage in her city.
I quit that agency immediately and set about building my own agency with transparency and amazing working conditions for Virtual Assistants.*
